What a difference a year makes or OMG we have less than two weeks to go.

It has been just about a year ago that I was very busy getting Jesse's Girl ready for the Baja HaHa. We had to close out the storage unit in Alameda CA. Move some junk from the storage unit to Missoula MT. Drive back to San Diego twice. Once with frozen New Mexico green chili's. Install a watermaker. Install dinghy davits. Install 4 X 135 solar panels. Remove the 3X 8-D batteries from under the galley. Move and install 8 AGM batteries to give us 1200 amp hours under the aft berth. Install a series 31 starting battery.I went around Jesse's Girl checking everything above the waterline. I check this and tighten that from Bow to Stern. I visited West Marine, and Downwind Marine almost daily the purchase extras of  screws, bolts, 60# Manson Supreme anchor and anchor chain and rode. Extra water pump and macerator pump. Extra hoses and clamps. The list goes on and on, but this will give you an idea of the planning that we put in for our trip.We drove to Alameda in time to do the gate 11 swap meet. Sold lots of stuff at bargan prices. Took clothes to goodwill. Loaded the pickup with everything not sold or given away and drove to Missoula MT. Drove to Salt Lake City spent the night, even though I could have used the extra day to get the boat ready. Drove from Salt Lake to San Diego and restarted preparing the boat.I would show pictures if I had them, but all photo's went to Montana.
Our crew and good friends Michael and Judy and I were talking every few days as we were in the count down. Judy and I voted for Michael to make "The famous Green Chili" I asked for about 3 gallons so a to have extra. Also Shepard's Pie as I thought that hot meals every day would make for a happy crew As usual Michael made meals fit for Captain and Crew.
Nerves were frayed at each passing day. The excitment also built at each passing day.
I write this because I have a number of friends facing the same frayed nerves and excitement that are signed up for the 2010 Baja HaHa. Most are currently on the water sailing down to San Diego. A few are currently at Catalina Island. Others are spread out between Catalina Island and Long Beach. I expect the first boat to start showing up any day.
Looking back over the last year. My trip was made up of very high, highs and very low, lows. We made new and lasting friends at every anchorage. The beauty of  Mexico, land, water and people is a memory that I still vist in my mind. The memory of each high and each low will stay with me forever. Both the good days and the bad are still just a part of life.
That is a year of "That's my window on the World"

When will we ever learn

I know two post in one day.
I have been thinking about this for a long time. I talk to different people that vote only as the party they belong to votes. In the history of our country we have not voted in a woman as President. Why do we make this a gender job. Pink President, Blue President, Black President.
The US now has a Black President. Why put even that label on the jub.
There has now been 44 US Presidents. Not a single woman. I know that for a period of time women were not even permitted to vote. We had one woman come very close to at least get the chance. The arguement could be that we have not had a qualified woman run for office. But if we did, would the outcome be different. I doubt it.
Out of 44 US Presidents, how many do are concidered to be Great Presidents. Only a handfull make the list. That means that around 9 out of ten did not make the list and a handfull made the Stupid list. Not a good record.
When will we learn that to vote for the best person makes the best person for any job.
Let do away with the Demacrats, Repulicans,Tea or Rednecks or what ever limits our thinking
That's my window on the World.

Stupid is as stupid does

About 3:30 AM I posted on FB just a silly thought about Apple and PCs adding a stupid button that one can use to check on is this a good idea or stupid. It was just a silly idea, but I do believe that we would be better off with this button. If we expand our thoughts on this silly idea and what it can mean.Just how much better our lifes would be. We would still make mistakes, but not the stupid ones that should not have been made.
Oh well I don't think that we will ever see that stupid button in our future.
One thing that we can do now is to stop telling lies to others because some of the others will believe. They may be stupid or just friends that will support you no matter what stance you take. Be carefull how you treat your friends. They should not be tested to support you based on a lie or even not the whole truth. Be a better friend.
We also lie to ourself. It is kind of funny that we lie to ourself and we actually believe the BS that we our feeding to ourself. I believe that we can do anything that we want as long as don't hurt anyone else. You can ack anyway that you want. You can say anything that you want. As lomg as you know in your heart the reason that you are acting that way. Another way to say it is, be responsible for your own actions.
I had a friend that was stopped by the police for speeding and was given a ticket. The person told me that it was the car in the next lane was the problem. I think the person belived that was the reason they got a ticket.
"To thy own self be true" In every meaning of this statement.
I know that one or two people that read this (Maybe only one or two will read this who knows) will have a question such as What is he doing up at 3:30 in the morning? The answer is " Solving world problems" Ok that is a lie. The truth is that I got up because I was rested at that time and felt like getting up.
Just another look into thats my window on the world.

September 27 2010 day one of in the new chapter of my life.

Life aboard my sail boat Jesse's Girl is one filled with doing a few projects that never seem to have an end.   I make the berth when I first get up. Turn on the coffee maker. Turn on the computer. Check emails, check the stock market, drink my coffee while checking FB. I have the second cup while sitting in the cockpit watching the other boats in the area. All in all, not a bad life.
It's off to work I go.
